Anglo-Chinese School Heritage Gallery

In celebrating their long and compelling history, the Anglo-Chinese School launched a Heritage Gallery. Atlas Rosetta was part of the team that designed and built both the physical space and virtual tour of that gallery.

The design of the physical space intentionally promoted heavy foot traffic while maintaining ease of traffic flow with multiple entrances and exits. The displays outside the gallery cleverly made use of existing walls and pillars to create intriguing visuals that added to the narrative, conveying the school’s 135-year history in an easy-to-follow and beautiful manner.

ALL ILLUSTRATIONS IN THE GALLERY WERE SPECIALLY HAND-DRAWN.

The scenes were crafted from studying old photos and researching the era during which the school was established. The style of the illustrations reflected the grandeur and heritage of the school. As the school’s history progressed in the timeline, color was added to the illustrations to reflect the changes in time period.

The web application development was an important aspect of the project as the client wanted to give their alumni residing overseas an opportunity to be part of the commemorative event. Upon launching the application on any digital device, users are able to “walk through” the gallery, much as if they were physically there. They are then able to click on the various walls to see the very same content as in the school, and access additional information as a digital bonus.
